1. Hold the Scissors Comfortably

Place your ring finger in the top loop and your thumb in the lower loop. Use both finger rests for added control and hand support.

2. Comb the Coat First

Brush or comb through the area you’re working on to remove tangles and lift the coat for a clean view of where to thin.

3. Use for Texture and Volume Control

Work on areas where the coat is too thick or uneven—like behind the ears, under the chest, around the thighs, or at the base of the tail.

4. Snip in Short, Repeated Motions

Make light, quick cuts with half blade closures. Move across small sections slowly to thin out the hair gradually.

5. Follow the Natural Shape of the Body

Move with the curve of the blade around the pet’s body to maintain a natural flow and soft appearance.

6. Check and Comb as You Go

After every few snips, comb through the area to check the texture and evenness. Repeat as needed for a smooth, blended result.

Maintenance Guide

1. Clean After Every Use

Wipe both blades and between the thinning teeth with a dry, soft cloth. Remove all fur and residue to keep the blades performing well.

2. Apply Oil Weekly

Add one drop of scissor oil to the pivot screw. Open and close the blades a few times to distribute the oil evenly.

3. Store in a Protective Case

Keep your scissors in a padded or fitted case to prevent accidental damage and preserve the titanium finish.

4. Keep Blades Dry

If the scissors get wet, dry them immediately with a cloth. Dry blades stay sharper and last longer.

5. Check Tension Monthly

For the price these thinners are amazing. I only had to have them sharpened 3 times in 2 years of daily use in a high volume salon. The gem in the middle fell off pretty quickly but other than that they are absolutely amazing
