Easy to hold and sharp

I bought this shear set when I began my career in dog grooming, as the salon I worked in didn't offer a large selection of shears to use. For a beginner and affordable set, they worked really really well. I give these shears a lot of credit. The thinners were my best friend and the curves provided a nice clean cut. For a good couple months, too. When our sharpener came around, he actually told me he could ruin these if he sharpened them due to the quality. That sure sucked to hear. I went on using them while also using the salon shears when I felt that these weren't holding up. The thinners and chunkers honestly did great work for about a year. Once they were unusable, I attempted to sharpen them myself with a whetstone. It improved them a little, but not much. I went on to buy my first set of expensive professional shears and these are my backups in case of emergency. I might still try to get them professional sharpened, but I'm not sure. They did not come in dull. The colors were awesome and looked good against all coats for great visibility. They were comfortable and easy-to-use.

I currently own high end shears and tried this set out based on reviews hoping they would be of similar quality. If you have never owned shears these would be a good set to start off with as it can be expensive purchasing several different higher end pairs at $75 plus each. I did love the case and how they all fit snug and even if you have nicer shears these make a great set for traveling if you are worried about damaging your expensive ones. They are also very pretty.

This set is a bang for your buck. Good quality and gets the job done. Plus the look great! They are great for thick coats and bulk scissoring. I don’t think they are the best for fine finishing but great for everyday work. The thinners are amazing! My new go to. They are blend the fur so well. Overall these are great and I highly recommend!

The chunkers and thinners feel nice in your hand. The straights and curves could be a little sharper but they still cut the hair without bending it. I need to put some shear oil on them because they are a little stiff. I needed to tighten the curves a bit because they came pretty loose but that’s all preference. The color is pretty however, the paint is chipped on the chunkers - shown in picture. Don’t love that but over all they get the job done and I’d recommend them to a new groomer if they were looking for a cheap set. I may update this review after i get to use them at work.

I've been using these shears for a couple weeks now. There's good and bad, but I really can't complain for the money. (You can't expect super-fine quality for super-cheap prices!)

First, I saw some reviews mention issues with the color, so I'll start by saying the color on mine was as nice as advertised. Obviously, as with many cheap products, there is more variability, and it can be a crap shoot what you receive. Luckily, mine are pretty.

None of the shears are a perfect fit for my hand, but sufficient for short term or infrequent use. I did need to add rubber finger guards to a couple pairs, which helped some.

Shears are not super lightweight, but not heavy either, and are decently balanced.

All of the blade edges seem well sharpened.

The thinners didn't work AT ALL right out of the box. We'll see if my sharpener can do anything for them.

The straights are just okay. Sharp, but a little clunky in comparison to my good shears. (Are we surprised?) But they function. They don't give the impression that they'll last long though.

The curves are like "super curves"! Very curved blade, which I have come to really enjoy more than my other curved shears, which I honestly rarely use. These new ones are getting a good deal of "testing" and successful use! I'm pretty happy with them!
(I saw another review that mentioned their curves were nearly straight. Again, obvious variability of cheap products.)

The chunkers are my favorite! So far they are working well, and I'm using them on nearly every dog. They have been functional on a variety of coat types and thicknesses. I don't expect them to hold up a long time like a quality shear would, but I'm hoping they'll prove me wrong, because I'm kind of in love. They cut exactly how I wanted a blending shear to cut.

Overall, I would definitely recommend this set to both professional groomers (as backups or starters) and pet owners grooming at home. No shear will fit every hand, so comfort will be subjective. But for a price this low, it's a great deal, and worth trying.

These are pretty good for the price , full time groomer here . Was looking for affordable back up scissors for new groomers , seems to be pretty good

I am a professional dog groomer of 8 months and I got these to replace my first set. I absolutely love the chunkers for the initaial rough shape and the blenders work wonderfully for smoothing everything out. They have gotten a little loose after daily use but nothing a lil tightening cant fix. All and all a great bang for your buck professional or at home groomer.

I purchased this as a starter set for grooming my standard poodle at home. So far I have been pleased with it. Gets the job done at a reasonable cost, and I love the case it comes in to keep them all protected.

I purchased this 7" scissor set for home dog grooming. I like the overall quality and the scissors cut well so far. The finger openings are a bit smaller and the metal a bit narrower than I would like ideally, so they are not as comfortable as I had hoped. I'm used to scissors with plastic or coated handles, though, which feel softer. For reference, I wear a ladies glove size L/XL and ring finger size 8. The company was very responsive to my inquiry as to whether the 8" scissors had larger finger openings (they don't) and offered a refund, but since I won't be using these that frequently, I opted to keep them. I like that the curved shears can be used point up or point down. I think this set is a good value overall and has the most important scissor types, so I'm satisfied with my purchase.

All shears cut fine except for the thinning shears. Pretty decent for the price. I wasn’t expecting high quality like Kenchii shears.
These are definitely great for the paws and face touch ups and just as backup pairs.
These would work great once they are sharpened by a professional.
As far as ease on the fingers moving the shears to cut, it did get quite tiring until you lubricate it, but it seems you have to lubricate quite often for it to function smoothly.
Honestly, I’ve gotten more expensive shears from Shears Direct and this set from EliteTrim functions a lot smoother.

I recently bought 3 sets, the 7” rainbow set is my favorite, but the thinner wont close. The gold 7” was for a backup, but the curved shears are too tight and sticky, and the 7” purple… well that was just for fun… havent gotten to use them much yet.. love most of them, just wish it was consistent quality because i use the thinners and curves the most… i would have gone on their website to try to contact them, but i couldnt find it either :(

Not only is the color beautiful, they cut so much better and nicer than some others I have used! We rescued a poodle, our first dog that needs grooming, with being retired and continual grooming costs for a poodle I decided to start getting supplies to do it myself! The scissors cut well, giving a more equal cut. The curved pair work great, especially around the face. They also come in a very nice leathered zippered case, with a cleaning cloth and tightening too if the scissors need to be tightened. The comb has both a fine and wide side which works much better that antipated. I love the way it goes through the poodle hair, so would work just as well if not better for long, straighter haired dogs! Try them, you won't be disappointed!

They are sharp and very good quality. I love that it came with a cloth for them and a tool for them too! Super nice set of shears.

Actually bought these for my daughter and myself because after hours of searching they were the cheapest set that included both sizes of shears as well as some great cutting scissors, my fingers can vouch for that one. Plus they’re pink and have rhinestones which are a great bonus because well duh!

For the price, they’re decent. They’re plenty sharp but I don’t expect them to hold an edge very long. The case is of extremely low quality (no surprise, really), but useful, and I appreciate the inclusion of a key to tighten/loosen the hinge, and even a polishing cloth. I find myself using the thinners and curved shears almost exclusively for my at-home grooming, and I expect that I’ll need to upgrade to a pair of curved thinners very soon.

I love their appearance, and the cutting ability is overall good. They do dull more quickly and I am guessing the metal used is a bit softer than some other brands.
