My pupper allowed me to drummel his nail and wasn't scared of the tool. Great value as i will be saving on grooming fees. The design is easy to use and safe. It works very well and the size and weight are not difficult to maneuver. It seems to be durable.

Alright I've been using this for a couple months now and it's still going strong and actually cuts my dogs thick ahh black claws 🤣 He's very nervous with nail trims so I have to be patient with him In the laundry room and do a little bit at a time. For his nails mode 5 and 6 works best! Lasts a long time once fully charged.

I expected a cheap peace of junk made in China and what I received is probably one of the best consumer products I have ever purchased. This thing is a miracle. I had historically used a Dremel on my Golden Retrievers. They didn't like it, but they complied.

Our one-year old Lab took to this trimmer with no problem at all. His nails are so short that they make no contact with the ground. Everyone comments on them - vet, groomer, trainer. It's a remarkable product. It's relatively quiet and, if you do it right, the light shines right through the nail so you can see the quick. Ours is a Red Fox Lab, so your success with seeing through nails on a darker/black dog may vary.

The trick is to lay the dog on its back with its head in your lap. Not all dogs will do this so you may need a little help from someone to feed some treats as a distraction. Mine didn't need any of it. Just take a little off every couple of days, avoid the quick and your dog will have perfect nails. No floor scratching and no car seat scratching.

If your dog is apprehensive, just hold it in your lap while sitting on the floor and give it some rubs and treats will turning the trimmer on low. Don't actually trim our dogs nails until it's comfortable with the device. When you do trim for the first time, just gently hit one nail and call it a day. Do it again later and use treats. Keep doing that and, in a few days, you'll have a great trimmer solution.

I would very much caution you not to get aggressive with this trimmer. It can be tempting to go crazy and take them all the way down, and some dogs may allow this, but it WILL hurt if you hit the quick, even though there won't be blood.

I would also recommend trimming the top part of the nail and letting the concrete wear down the under-side of the nail naturally. If you don't walk your dog enough for that, just carefully file the entire nail a little bit at a time. Doing this every few days keeps the drama to a minimum and will keep your dog's quick moving backward. Just remember to take the smallest amount off if you can't see the quick. Less than a millimeter.

I'm going to buy another one just so I have it when the one I have fails. It's that good.

Note on pictures: This is a very active dog. He hikes mountains and walks 4-6 miles per day. His nails look rough because he spends a lot of time on rough terrain. You could file your dog's nails with a nail file if you want them smooth. I'm going for short.

I have to say…amazing! My 11 year old AussieDoodle has not allowed me to touch her hind nails since I hurt her when she was a puppy . The groomer can do it but she doesn’t get them short enough and she doesn’t see Mysti often. Anyway, I am super excited as yesterday, after a bit of growling and treats, she let me grind all of her nails!!! Thank you so much. I know it will make a big difference for her! BTW I never write reviews.

We have a Cavoodle and a King Charles cavalier. Our dogs hated getting their nails done because of pain but now they sit and watch while we trim their nails once they realised it didn't hurt

Head wears out quickly but besides that it works great with my pup, fairly quiet and doesnt not hurt them at all

Absolutely happy with this nail grinder. I've tried a few different ones, including the popular Dremel one which I wasn't impressed at all with, and this one has been the keeper. I hate cutting my pup's nail la because I'm scared of cutting her but with this grinder not only is it easier to not cut as deep but the light helps you see the quick so you know where to stop. My pup also whines as soon as she sees the clippers but with the grinder she even fell asleep. It is also quiet. Wish I had bought it sooner

My Great Pyranees mix has bear claws. Big, thick, black nails. This makes it very difficult to trim them and since I've hit the quick many times over the last 12 years, she is afraid of the process and so am I. I've tried a corded rotary tool with the sanding barrels before but she was scared of that and it was too difficult, so I just tried to cut them normally but it was hard and the nails have always been longer than they should be. But battery tech has improved over the last 10 years a lot and better products can be found for very cheap prices more so than back then. So I got this one based on reviews and videos on sale and I can't believe how calm she is when I'm using it. I use treats like I always have, but she doesn't pull her paws back and doesn't show any anxiety at all. None. She just sits there while I grind slowly. I'm learning how to position her paws and the tool and my body (I have to lay on the floor with her) but I'm sure we will figure out the best positioning over the next few weeks. I'm grinding pretty frequently at the moment (every few days) just a little bit because I have a lot to trim back until it's a normal length and I'm taking just a millimeter or so off at a time to allow the quick to recede. So not only do I have that amount of precise control of the tool, but she even lays her head down and closes her eyes while I do it. Such a difference from the scissor type clippers. And with the light and rechargeable battery, it's a real shame I didn't have this option years ago.

Just used on my smaller dog (Havanese) and this works so much better than a much more expensive brand name...The grinding wheel on this doesn't "wobble" when in use and the guard allows to reach smaller nails (the other one does not). The light is very helpful. This is lighter weight and I appreciate that. I haven't used on my larger (Doodle) dog yet, with black nails, and who is very difficult, but will update my review after that. Right now, my only critical comment would be that I wish this had a push on/off button instead of the rotating bottom that also adjusts the speeed. It's a bit difficult to hold the dog, hold the paw and nail correctly and rotate the bottom to turn on - it would be quicker/easier to have a push button. Glad I purchased.

Not as quiet as advertised.

It works really well, except we haven’t been able to use on our dog! She is a rescue and very skittish. However, my husband has used it! He has some tough nail issues. It’s seems safe. 😊

Excellent product works way better thin expected and the price is definitely worth it for sure I have a blue nose pit that is very picky when your touching his feet and he usually freaks out I used this right out of the boxes with ease

I have a very large dog (130 pounds) and this worked perfectly and much faster than our previous nail grinder. I had all paws done in about 10 mins, it used to take an hour easily with the previous grinder.
Hopefully it keeps up!
